2:30-2:45 pm - Introduction and Welcome - Claudia G. Green, PhD, Associate Professor of Management and Director of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Pace University. Dr. Green has led over 250 students and faculty on 10 field studies to Brazil since 2000. On eight other visits, she spoke at professional conferences and worked on community-based projects in the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest.

2:45- 3:15 pm - Larry Rohter, author of "Brazil on the Rise: The Story of a Country Transformed." Critics have said that he knows the country better than Brazilians themselves. Rohter served 14 years as a Newsweek correspondent in Rio de Janeiro and later as bureau chief there for The New York Times. He is currently a culture reporter for The New York Times.

4:15-5:00 pm - Thiago Guimarães, Development Officer, Brazil Foundation, NYC, which raises funds in the U.S. for the purpose of sponsoring qualified social investments in Brazil
