Since 1932, the Whitney Biennial has served as the love-it-or-hate-it survey of contemporary art. This year`s incarnation features Canadian-born multimedia artist Bozidar Brazda, known for his obscure and often personal work. His installation includes a metal chair hung upside down from the ceiling in such a way that it vaguely resembles a radio antenna. The recorded voices of people calling into a radio show can be heard, while a microphone picks up ambient sounds from visitors to the room.

Incorporating sculpture, painting, music, and video, Brazda`s rough-hewn exhibition centers around a partially autobiographical narrative that imposes a kind of logic through the stories embedded within the installation.
