Boz Scaggs began his music career after college in the burgeoning rhythm and blues scene in London, England. He traveled Europe singing and playing in several bands. Upon his return, he headed straight for the psychedelic music scene in San Francisco. That’s where he linked up with Steve Miller and played on the Steve Miller Band’s first two albums. Later in the 1970s, Scaggs released a self-titled solo album to critical acclaim. In 1976, he linked up with the guys who would later become the band Toto to record the smash album “Silk Degrees.” The album reached number two on the U.S. charts and number one in several countries around the globe. He has continued his music success through the 1980s, 90s and beyond. In 1988, he opened the San Francisco nightclub, Slim’s. To this day, the club showcases up and coming music acts.
