The Greater The Risk was formed in January 2010 by recent college graduates guitarist Ashley Drewes, bassist Nate Wilson, and vocalist Deek Kaufman. After several months of lineup changes they found guitarist/vocalist Blake Gillespie and drummer Derek Ames to help round out their sound. The sound you ask? It is the life experience discovered at school, the triumph and heartache of friendships and relationships, the culmination of a part of life and commencement of another. Using influences ranging from Anberlin to Mae, Cartel to Jimmy Eat World, they have crafted songs that speak of these familiarities.

Just less than a year old, The Greater The Risk is making a name for themselves by earning awards such as Syke Energyís ìBand of the Monthî and their single ìBraverî topping at #13 on Purevolume.com. With a new batch of images and ideas, the gents and lady plan to enter the studio once again this winter to create disc two. Working with acclaimed producer Bryan Russell (Coldplay, The Academy IsÖ, Straylight Run, Envy on the Coast), their second release is scheduled for Spring 2011.
