Strike Out Homelessness. Bowl for Change with Hospitality House.
Central City Hospitality House will mark 38 years of progressive community service in San Francisco?s Tenderloin neighborhood with Bowl for Change! 2005 on Wednesday, March 9th, 5:30pm at Presidio Lanes, located at 93 Moraga Avenue in the Presidio.

Local celebrities Carolyn Tyler (ABC 7 News), Leah Garchick (San Francisco Chronicle) and Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi will join the event?s co-chairs, Chris Daly and Tom Ammiano, and emcee Vernon Glenn (KRON-4) to raise much-needed funding for the Tenderloin community center?s programs that combat homelessness and poverty.

Founded in 1967 during San Francisco?s ?Summer of Love,? Hospitality House is one of the city?s oldest community-based organizations working to end poverty and homelessness and offers a range of peer-based services that promote self-sufficiency, cultural enrichment, and empowerment among those facing barriers to stability.

The event kicks off with the annual TenderChamp Awards, presented to individuals and organizations significantly impacting the lives of homeless and poor people in San Francisco?s neighborhoods. This year?s recipients include Kym Valadez, a long-time veterans? advocate and former program director at Swords to Plowshares; Laura Guzman of the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center; the Community Housing Partnership, a Tenderloin-based supportive housing program; and a special recognition to Paul Boden, homeless advocate, for his years of work in the community and at the Coalition on Homelessness.

Guests of all ages will then enjoy fun bowling competitions, prizes, and food prepared by Episcopal Community Services? Conquering Homelessness through Employment in Food Services (C.H.E.F.S) program. For ticket and event information, call 415-749-2184.
