The society of women engineers at UC Riverside is hosting an entertaining hands-on space science community event for invited guests and Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts will be able to earn an event patch and work
towards a badge.This event is free to all participants and will take place on the North side of the UC Riverside campus. We invite the faculty, staff, UCR and the Girl Scouts to take advantage of this opportunity. Elementary, Middle, and High School aged participants will enjoy a variety of events aimed at space science and engineering.
Fun, hands-on activity centers geared toward children ages 5 and up will teach them about the solar system. They will have a chance to explore robotics, create their own unique star constellations in the planetarium, interact with the Mars rover, and much more. The Riverside Astronomical Society will have telescopes set up, give talks and offer hands-on activities. This year our focus will be Green and Sustainability.
This event is made possible through co-sponsors including the Bourns Co., NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Xerox, the Riverside Astronomical Society, UCR's Bourns College of Engineering, the Society of Women Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Note for Parents:

This is a free event.
Advanced registration required due to limited space.
Participants are responsible for transportation.
A permission form is required for all minors.
Parents DO NOT have to register as participants for the event. Please only register your son and/or daughter as a participant. If parents are interested in registering as a volunteer please refer back to the SSED website, and click on the Volunteers link. (www.engr.ucr.edu/~ssed)
