RICHARD DANIELPOUR-A Woman’s Life
JOHANNES BRAHMS-A German Requiem

For Brahms, contemplating existence and the finiteness of earthly life led him to compose this most “human” of requiems, which will feature CU baritone PATRICK MASON. An equally poignant reflection on life is presented in Danielpour’s A Woman’s Life—a deeply moving song cycle of poems by Maya Angelou. Written for our evening’s soloist, noted Metropolitan Opera soprano ANGELA BROWN, this work explores the stages of life through the eyes of an African-American woman.
