The First-Ever Landmarks Festival At The Shell Comes To The Esplanade This Summer

Who: Boston Landmarks Orchestra, in partnership with Boston’s Classical Radio Station 99.5 WCRB and in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Esplanade Association and the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters.

What: Green Masterpieces, the last of nine concerts, will feature music inspired by nature, landscapes and the environment, including Beethoven’s Symphony No.6 (Pastorale), Handel’s Water Music, and The Birds by Respighi.

When: Wednesday, September 5 at 7 p.m.
Where: The Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade

Why: Conductor Charles Ansbacher founded the Boston Landmarks Orchestra in 2001 to perform free concerts celebrating historical, geographical and architectural settings. By presenting exceptional music performances in significant settings, the Orchestra fosters a broad appreciation of classical music while bringing together the area’s diverse communities.

Admission: Free and open to the public.
