George's Island
Boston, Massachusetts 02110

Boston Harbor Island Alliance is proud to announce the 5th Annual Boston Harbor Islands Regatta and invites all sailors, whether beginner or pro, to join in on the fun. In the world of sailing, there's no better event than a round-the-islands, benefit, pursuit race. In a pursuit race, everyone seems to be winning at some point. In this 12 mile race, the slowest rated boats start first and some of the fastest boats almost an hour later. With handicaps applied at the start, the theory is that in a perfect world everyone finishes at the same time.

Visitors are encouraged to come join in the public festivities on Georges Island to see the race, go fishing, and take a tour of Fort Warren with a ranger dressed in Civil War clothing. It is a fun way to spend a day with your family and friends. All activities are free on Georges Island. Ferries depart from Long Wharf on the Columbus Park side of the Long Wharf Marriott Hotel in downtown Boston.
