George's Island
Boston, Massachusetts 02110

Boston Harbor Islands National Park and Berklee College of Music have joined to bring a little rock and roll rebellion to Georges Island. Take No Prisoners: Berklee at Fort Warren will hold you captive for an afternoon under the sun with the rolling backbeat of three of Berklee’s best up- and-comers back-to-back. It’s the first-ever concert to rock national historic landmark Fort Warren with sounds that don’t come from the Harbor. The triumvirate of talent performs August 8, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Enjoy an exciting excursion to Georges Island with an Island Park ferry from Long Wharf (on the blue line, next to the Christopher Columbus Park and the Marriot Hotel). Take in the concert while relaxing on the lawn in front of Fort Warren and experience any number of other activities promised by land or sea throughout the day. Mark Hopkins and the Hotel
Hopkins cites a range of influences, from Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix to Jeff Buckley and Wayne Krantz. Hopkins's prior band, Tribe, released a disc, Vehicle, that was named album of the year by Maryland adult alternative radio station WRNR in 2004. Hopkins has toured the Northeast U.S. and has shared the stage with such artists as Bernie Worrell and Yellow Man. Hopkins later decided to leave Tribe to establish a new project: a power trio of talented musicians focused on mature songwriting and soulful melodies.
Nini & Ben
Their music is characterized by rich textures of innocence and experience. The duo has spent years performing all over Europe and Australia, writing poignant songs, and falling in love with the gypsy life style. With gritty slide guitar and graceful pedal steel accentuating an acoustic sound, the music comes alive through delicate songwriting and masterful musicianship. Having been co-writers since their teenage years, Nini Fabi and Ben Gebert came to Berklee to study with some of the industry greats, and will release their first full length album this fall. They are featured on the latest disc from Berklee's student-run Heavy Rotation Records.
Abigail East
Recognized by poets and musicians alike, she busted through the braces of ordinary songwriting with music that continues to artfully reflect her experiences from a pool of soft and almost impressionistic chord progressions. Her clear, radiant voice and unique approach to finger-style guitar supports a single-minded poeticism, all while mapping the drift and spiritual growth of a young woman.
