Like Sleep, Boris was ultimately inspired by the Melvins and Earth. Besides pure heavy riff-droning bombast, Boris adds a unique experimentalist ambience to all they touch. This perfectly explains the Japanese band's involvement and collaboration with such cult-experimental arists such as Merzbow and Keiji Haino. Every release from this group is different.
