Boreal Future Opening Reception
Join The G2 Gallery and photographer Garth Lenz for the opening reception of Boreal Future: Our Last Great Forest and the Threat of the Tar Sands. The exhibit focuses on the Canadian Boreal Forest, which is perhaps the world's greatest and most effective carbon storehouse, absorbing harmful greenhouse gasses and releasing life-giving oxygen into the atmosphere. This ecosystem is now under threat by the development of the Alberta Tar Sands, the largest oil reserves outside of Saudi Arabia. By both releasing carbon and scraping the carbon-neutralizing Boreal Forest off the face of the earth, the Tar Sands create a pollution double negative. RSVP required to [email protected]. Complimentary valet and passed hors d'oeuvres provided.
