BOOTIE this Saturday, February 10th at the DNA Lounge

Featuring special guest DJ McSleazy from Glasgow, Scotland + more!

Have we got a jam-packed mashup party planned for you! We've been waiting for this for almost 3 years – that's how long it's been, since BOOTIE's first anniversary party, back in 2004 when Scottish bootleg legend McSleazy flew over from Glasgow to spin one of the most memorable mashup sets we've ever had at Bootie. And this Saturday, it's his long-awaited return to America!

From Glasgow, Scotland, a special guest DJ set from McSLEAZY

BOOTIE would not be what it is today without Get Your Bootleg On, the internet forum that helped kickstart the modern mashup movement -- as well helping to keep the bootleg mashup scene alive and well. Created five years ago by McSleazy, Get Your Bootleg On -- or GYBO, as it's commonly known -- quickly became a launching pad for new mashups, and helped foster an international community of bootleggers, with McSleazy as its host. That's why we affectionately refer to him as "The Godfather of Bootlegs."

Since creating GYBO, McSleazy has gone on to produce tracks for MTV Mash, MTV Europe's mashup show, as well as having his own mix show featuring indie dance tracks, bootlegs, and electro remixes on XFM Scotland. He regularly DJs big European festivals such as T in the Park, and has opened for numerous bands.

This month marks Get Your Bootleg On's Fifth Birthday and we're pleased that McSleazy is celebrating by DJing at Bootie, where he promises to spin nothing but "bootleg gold." In other words, get ready to dance your ass off! Rumor has it, he might even have some "Best of GYBO" CD compilations to give away!

Upstairs: Seattle's mashup club FRANKENBOOT – with DJs Freddy, King of Pants and Earworm

In the upstairs room, we are excited to bring you FRANKENBOOT, Seattle's original all-mashup bootleg party. Created by DJ Freddy, King.Of.Pants, FrankenBOOT has been rockin' Seattle with mashups for over two years. Freddy is not only a popular DJ in both Seattle and San Francisco, but he's guest DJed twice before at Bootie. However this is his first time doing FrankenBOOT as a "club-within-a-club." He's even got his own special guest DJ ... San Francisco's DJ Earworm!

Bootie house band SMASH-UP DERBY salutes McSleazy at 11 pm

SMASH-UP DERBY the Bootie house band, will be hitting the stage at 11 pm with a mini-tribute to guest DJ McSleazy, who created a couple of the mashups that are now Smash Up Derby standards. As much as the band would like to take credit for their Nirvana vs. Michael Jackson "hit," "Smells Like Billie Jean," it was actually McSleazy who came up with it first. So they'll be doing their best to make McSleazy proud, with a Smash-Up Derby "greatest hits" set, featuring another of McSleazy's tracks, "Don't Call Me Blur," as well as another paying homage to Glasgow's Franz Ferdinand! There might even be some special guest appearances at the end... speaking of...

Midnight mashup show starring Cookie Dough, Steven Satyricon, Liability & Starr

We have an epic midnight mashup show planned, to the tune of
"My Other Car Is A Beatle,"
the now-classic mashup from local DJ Jay-R. Drag queen superstar Cookie Dough is taking a break from the Monster Show at Harvey's, and she's "dragging" Liability, Starr, and Bootie 'it' boy Steven Satyricon on stage with her to put on a show you won't soon forget!

And of course, resident DJs Adrian & the Mysterious D and Party Ben, and DADA will be in the house as well, spinning all your favorite mashups throughout the night!

We've got free Bootie CDs to the first 50 people, and it's 2 for 1 before 10:30 pm, so get there early! See you Saturday!

This is also our 'Valentines Makeout Party' so pucker up!
