You probably don't know it, but if you've been coming to our party, you've already been dancing to VICTOR MENEGAUX's mashups. He's the producer responsible for some of Bootie's biggest hits ... Easy Maneater, What I Like About Crunk, and London Blister, to name just a few ... and this Saturday, he's flying in from Seattle to throw it down himself! He hits the decks at midnight, right after the midnight mashup show.
SMASH-UP DERBY, the Bay Area's "Best Cover Band" (as voted on by the readers of the San Francisco Bay Guardian), will be hitting the stage at 11 PM sharp, rockin' out their unique mashed-up take on your favorite songs. And since they'll be debuting a new mashup that features two songs from bands with lead singers who have a penchant for wearing leather pants, Adrian promises to be wearing some himself. And what song will they be doing? We've got two words for you: Depeche Priest!
We're always looking for fresh new mashup producers and DJs, and this month, we're proud to feature three of them in the upstairs room, which we're calling the New Blood Lounge. Spinning will be DJ FOX, whose fantastic Fergie vs. Roxy Music mashup made our Top 10 last month. DJ Fox spins at top spots all over the city, but this will be his Bootie debut!
We'll also have DJ FABBRI, who filled in for DJ Dada's early set a few months back ... this time he's back to throw down a more primetime dance set upstairs. And kicking the night off will be DJ BITCH, who will be doing his first-ever DJ set – and who you might recognize as the bass player for Bootie house band Smash-Up Derby! Show the Bootie new blood some love!
It's been nearly a year since one of our favorite performers, Miss PATTY O'FURNITURE, has graced our stage for a midnight mashup show ... and this month, we're happy to have her back, as she faces off with STEVEN SATYRICON in a dance-off, performing to an A PLUS D mashup that's one of the favorites of the DNA Lounge staff – She Wants Revenge vs. Joy Division vs. Bauhaus.
DJ DADA will get the night rolling, but since his 10 pm dance set last time went over so well last month, we've asked him to do an extra 30 minutes. Get there early for his special 90-minute opening set!
