Since 2001, this amazingly-talented duo have created over 200 mashup tracks and dropped some of the biggest dance floor bangers ever. In 2004, they were enlisted by MTV Europe to produce 18 exclusive mixes for their "MTV MASH" program, as well as creating a series of "mini-mashes" that blended MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS nominees' tracks.
The duo have also been hosting their very popular weekly radio mix-show on France's top-rated NRJ Mastermix program for the past two years, as well as their own "Mash Mix" online podcast.
Most recently, their worldwide smash, "Horny As A Dandy" – which seamlessly blends Mousse T's "Horny" with Dandy Warhols' "Bohemian Like You" – saw its official release in Europe by the Peppermint Jam/Postiva label, and also appeared on the first, legally-sanctioned mashup album, "Mashed" (EMI). It was also nominated in the "Best Underground Dance Track" category at the 2007 Miami Winter Music Conference.
These self-described "bastards at work" are clearly working it!
He may be internationally-infamous for starting a very public feud with UK rap-midget Lady Sovereign ... but he's also our favorite giant rapping pastry snack! He's MC JELLY DONUT, and this month, he'll be joining Bootie house band Smash Up Derby for a couple of songs. He'll be rapping freestyle with the band, as well as "busting a move" on a custom mashup number created just for tonight!
Bootleg culture goes beyond just "A vs. B" mashups, and this Saturday, we'll be showcasing two DJs known for their unofficial, unsanctioned custom remixes – Connecticutt's ATOM and San Francisco's very own Kid Hack. They'll be taking over the upstairs room, and spinning a very thumpy set of bootleg remixes for your dancing pleasure!
Every since she came on the scene a short while ago, MONISTAT has been raising eyebrows with her edgy and borderline insane performances, such as when she hosted last month's "Youth In Asia" night at Trannyshack. This Saturday, she makes her Bootie midnight mashup show debut!
As always, your resident DJs Adrian & the Mysterious D, Party Ben, and DADA will be holding it down in-between, spinning all your favorite mashups, as well as several fresh new creations hot off the laptop!
