BOOTIE, LA's premiere all mashup bootleg dance party! Guest DJ Earworm March 3, 2007

BOOTIE is this Saturday, March 3rd at The Echo, with guest DJ Earworm!



This coming Saturday at The Echo, we are proud to present the return of San Francisco-based mashup producer and author, DJ Earworm, who will be celebrating a book release party for his recently-released Audio Mashup Construction Kit.



It's been exactly one year since DJ EARWORM first spun a set at BOOTIE LA, and since then, he's been busy creating a slew of new, unreleased bootleg mashups, as well as writing the very first book on mashup creation: Audio Mashup Construction Kit.



Not only is this the definitive tome on how to create your own mashups – written by an acclaimed master of the craft – it's also a bit of a history lesson of the artform itself, delving not only into the how's and what's of mashup mixing and production, but also the why's. It's an extensive and exhaustive book detailing all aspects of mashup culture and creation – and you will have a chance to win a signed copy!

To win one, write down your name and your best mashup idea on a piece of paper and bring it with you to the club. When you get to the door, put it in the Mashup Idea Box next to our door guy, Tony. We'll pick our TWO favorites, and at midnight, DJ Adrian will announce the winners from stage! But you've gotta be there to win!





We've got a great midnight mashup show planned, starring the IMMATERIAL MOUSKETEERS. The last time this ever-name-changing troupe performed, they gave us dancing zombie bananas – so who knows what's going to happen as they take on "Material Mickey," the classic Madonna vs. Toni Basil vs Quiet Riot vs Bay City Rollers mashup by DJ Matt Hite.


This weekend's Bootie will also feature an appearance by your favorite LA superheroes - Lucky Legendary!


Resident Bootie mashup DJs Adrian & the Mysterious D and DJ Paul V.will be spinning as well, playing all your mashup favorites, including some they've just cooked up.

To get a taste of some of the mashups we'll be playing, be sure to tune in to Paul V.'s Smash Mix this Friday at 5:30 pm on Indie 103.1.

As usual, we'll have this month's new 10-track Bootie CD to the first 50 people through the door!
