Jasmine N. Colbert was raised in Pasadena, California and began writing short stories and poems at an early age. She received her BA and MA Degree in English Literature from California State University, Los Angeles. She began writing and performing spoken word in 1998 at coffee houses and venues in the Leimert Park Village in Los Angeles, CA. She continues to write and perform as a member of the music group, Vessels and the Band. Jasmine currently resides in La Verne, CA. Two Sides of the Same Hunger: Love Poems is her first published collection.
