Book Reading - We Speak in Changing Languages. Readings from an Indian Women's Poetry Anthology. dited by E.V. Ramakrishnan and Anju Makhija Audio Visual Room. This is a Chauraha presentation. Published this year by the Sahitya Akademi, this anthology includes 21 women poets from all over India, highlighting the diversity of voices in contemporary Indian English poetry. The poets represent a variety of perspectives and attitudes. There are poems that probe myth and memory, as also poems that explore relationships in our complex society. The evening will include an introduction by co-editor, Anju Makhija and a dramatic presentation by actor, Meeta Vasisht. There will also be readings by Mumbai poets: Menka Shivdasani, Jane Bhandari, Arundhathi Subramaniam, Marilyn Noronha and Sampurna Chattarji.
