This story speeds us through the mid-life crisis of successful immigrant Ali. We encounter his glamorous lifestyle in the trendy clubs of West Hollywood, flashbacks to his childhood in postcolonial Kenya, the surprise visit of his over-protective mother that ignites memories of his sex-charged, abusive father, his betrayals by a series of lovers, sex (both beautiful and tragic), insatiable desire and a desperate yearning for belonging.
