Bolweevil was formed in Chapel Hill in 1999 comprised of several current and former UNC-Chapel Hill student musicians. Originally getting together to jam on Widespread Panic, Phish, and Grateful Dead tunes, The Weevil found that there was a strong chemistry for Widespread Panic's music within the band.
