The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the most important international event dedicated to the children’s publishing and multimedia industry.
In its 46th edition, the Fair offers more than 20.000 square meters of exhibition space with a simple, easy-to-understand layout.
In Bologna, authors, illustrators, literary agents, TV & Film producers, licensors and licensees, packagers, distributors, printers, booksellers, and librarians meet to:

About 1.300 exhibitors coming from 69 countries in 2008. The exhibitors are publishers, literary agents, packagers, printers, international organizations, TV and Film producers, licensor and licensees, and service companies linked to the publishing world.

Special Initiatives
Each year, the Bologna Children's Book Fair proposes to all exhibitors and visitors alike, special initiatives that offer excellent opportunities to increase contacts and hone ones’ skills in various sectors of the children’s copyright market. In particular:
the Literary Agents Centre is a place of honor for the exchange of copyrights.
the TV/Film & Licensing Rights Centre is a centre dedicated to the exchange of copyrights between editors, television producers, cinematographers and licensing companies.
Illustrators Exhibition is the largest and most prestigious international display of the most innovative trends in children’s illustration.
The 2008 Guest Honor of the Illustrators Exhibition will be Argentina, presenting a selected exhibition of its best illustrators.
Falling back on the worldwide promotion
The Children’s Book Fair hosts, in Bologna, journalists selected from among the most important news outlets in the world. Each year, more than 600 journalists representing 70 countries from all over the world report on the event.
Information regarding the Children’s Book Fair and its initiatives, pre-registration notwithstanding, are sent worldwide at the right moment to an extensive list of qualified exhibitors that are carefully selected and continually updated.
Each year, the Fair plays host to a number of exhibitors coming from countries of major interest for the development of new markets
