Bollywood Dance Party & Charity Fundraiser August 28, 2011

Come get your groove on in our Maharajah's Palace! This Bollywood dance party is a fundraiser for a fabulous cause: uplifting the lives of the less fortunate children in Ahmedabad, India, and right here in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco.

Appearing for your dancing and listening pleasure: DJ Amar along with special guests Calamity Sam from Los Angeles, Robin Sukhadia, plus nonstop Bhangra DJ Jimmy Love and the Dholrhythms dance troupe. The Miss Asian American Beauty Pagent Queens will be in attendance and Henna Gardens will be providing henna tattoos.

Twice every year, New Delhi Restaurant transforms into "Compassionate Chefs Cafe"- a unique space of giving and selfless service. At this event, you won't receive a bill for the food you eat, because it is offered to you purely as a gift, with great love. In turn, you can "pay it forward" - whatever amount you wish - offering a gift of your own will go directly towards youth enrichment programs supported by Compassionate Chefs Cafe.

This is a social endeavor to see what happens when a San Francisco Bay area community - comprised of caring people, business owners, volunteers, and world renowned chefs - all converge to harness and focus their generosity. It is a celebration of fine dining and merriment, all working to empower the less fortunate children in Ahmedabad, India, and right here in the tenderloin district of San Francisco.

This extravaganza brings together residents in the Bay Area within the food and beverage industry who combine forces with local artists sharing eclectic performances and a gourmet Indian buffet. The next Compassionate Chefs Cafe will feature performances by Dholrhythms Dance Company of Non Stop Bhangra, a tribal fusion belly dance by Calamity Sam, Music by Dj Amar, mehndi by Henna Gardens and more.
