Pendleton Community Public Library Welcomes Indiana Basketball Legend Bobby “Slick” Leonard as the Featured Guest of the Indiana Living Biography Series, Saturday, September 26th, 2009.

Pendleton, IN – The Pendleton Community Public Library, in cooperation with WIPB-TV and Indiana Public Radio, is pleased to welcome Indiana basketball legend, Bobby “Slick” Leonard as the featured fall guest of the 2009 Indiana Living Biography Series. Mr. Leonard is sure to delight the audience at the Pendleton Community Public Library with colorful stories from his life in basketball on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

The Indiana Living Biography Series profiles four Indiana legends over the course of the year. Featured guests are interviewed in front of a live audience where they share their individual stories and life lessons. Each interview will be recorded for future television and radio broadcasts. Past guests include singer-songwriter Bill Gaither and U. S. Senator Evan Bayh.

Bobby “Slick” Leonard is in his 25th year with the Pacers as a broadcaster. As the Pacers’ head coach for 12 years, Leonard won over 500 games and 3 ABA championships. Before coming to the Pacers, “Slick” had an outstanding playing career in the high school, collegiate, and pro levels and was named as one of Indiana’s “50 Greatest Players.” A two-time All-American at Indiana University, he was Captain of the Hoosiers’ 1953 NCAA championship team. He also played 7 years in the NBA with the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers.
