Over
the last decade, Greater DC Cares has emerged as the regions
leading board training and matching organization. We have
trained over 800 professionals who either
currently serve on nonprofit boards or are interested in doing so
about the duties and responsibilities of a nonprofit board
member. Of those looking to be matched, we have
placed 225 professionals on the boards of 125+
nonprofits throughout the greater DC region!
Mission
Statement:
Greater DC Cares Board Leadership Program is an 8-hour
training on the roles and responsibilities of serving as a
nonprofit board member. Each participant will engage in
seminars focused on: models of board governance, the basic moral
and legal obligations of a trustee, financial oversight, and
techniques for fundraising, as well as have the opportunity to
interact with nonprofit leaders seeking new directors.

The Board Leadership Program is
an excellent opportunity for developing leadership skills.
Candidates are often able to secure tuition costs through their
workplaces professional development budget. Check with
Human Resources or your supervisor to see if this training
qualifies.
