Soul Rio is a screaming, streaming mix of rhythm & blues, jump blues, tex-mex, country and old school soul. The founding member is Ray Jimenez, who has been building his reputationand following since 1990. Although the Soul Rio name is only a f...ew years young, their reputation is legendary. Depending on venue, occasion and budget, Soul Rio can go from a 3 pc to 7 pc. Honkin' dance bands. The nucleu...s of the band is a three pieced consisting of... guitar/vocals-Ray Jimenez, bass/vocals-Ray (Ray Ray) Salizar and drummer/vocals-Craig Miller. Additional members are... Mr. Joe Rios, saxaphone player extraordinaire, Mr. Joe (Sparky) Montoya, who fills the sound out with his dynamtic keyboard playing and his tex-mex/zydeco accordion, and Mr. Alanda Williams-a dynamic and entertaining singer/frontman since the days of Mowtown and doo-wop. Soul Rio can be seen delivering their trademark brand of sweaty soulful mix of music to a wildly enthusiastic audience nightly!
