Eclipse Theatre Company opens their 15th anniverary season with Pearl Cleage's 'Blues for an Alabama Sky. Cleage wrote this story set in a Harlem brownstone in 1930 as the Harlem Renaissance is engulfed by the Great Depression. The matter of birth control proves to be the flash point when a Cotton Club singer clashes with a strait laced suitor. The characters who live in the building include an openly gay designer and kind-hearted doctor. They have to cope with various sorts of prejudice as well as the dangers of facing their true selves.
