San Francisco, CA - Misho Gallery announces its February show "Blues" opening with a preview party on Friday February 8th from 5 - 9 pm. The show features Photo Nouveau member Lennell Allen with abstract photography in the main gallery. She is joined by 7 additional artists interpreting the theme in various styles. Misho Gallery is located at 680 8th Street, suite 230, in San Francisco's SOMA design district.

Lennell Allen emphasizes natural light, long exposures with a tripod, and images that suggest, rather than replicate, an object. Her work is subtle and calm, the colors subdued, whether she is focusing on blue bottles with whimsical reflections or the rolling ocean at sunset. She paints with light.

Lennell's work was chosen by the SF Art Commission as part of the permanent art collection of the SFPUC building this year. Her previous scientific photography for UCSF has appeared on 3 national scientific journal covers. She is joined in this show by painters Tracy Fetter and Linda Donohue, guest photographers Shima Kakhi and Susanne Schwartzer, and Photo Nouveau members Wendell Shinn, Xavier Phelp, and Misho.

After the opening on Friday February 8, "Blues" images can be viewed at the Misho Gallery during regular gallery hours, Thursday - Saturday, from 1- 4 pm, or by appointment, through Saturday February 23. Gallery phone number is 415 655-1838; the website is http://www.mishogallery.com.
