Bluegrass Festival to Benefit
"Fighting Forty-two" Station house of Community Fire Co. No. 1
Riegelsville, PA, August 2, 2006: Community Fire Co. No. 1, Riegelsville, will be sponsoring a Bluegrass Festival benefit concert on September 9, 2006 from 1pm-8pm at the Silver Creek Athletic Association Pavilion located on Route 212, Springtown, PA. to raise funds for a new thermal imaging camera.

"Thermal imaging cameras are a must have tool for our fire and rescue department," states Todd Myers, Chief, Community Fire Co. No. 1. A thermal imaging camera uses heat to see images rather then light. Estimated prices for a thermal imaging camera are $8,000 to $15,000 per camera. "Time is of the essence during a fire and rescue operation. Lives of victims and volunteer fire and rescue personnel can be saved and protected if our fire department had a thermal imaging camera", said Myers. A thermal imaging camera can be used to help find unconscious victims in a smoke filled room, pinpoint the sources of fires and detect structural dangers before they cause injury and death.

Bands slated to perform at the Bluegrass Festival include: Like Father, Like Son, The Lost Ramblers and special guests. Tickets for the festival are on sale now for $22 and will cost $25 at the gate. Children under the age of twelve (12) will be admitted free of charge. The Bluegrass Festival will be held rain or shine. Ticket price includes admission to the Bluegrass Festival, food and beverages.

In addition to the concert, there will be other events plus all-day entertainment including chain saw carving demonstrations by John Snyder, Quakertown.
Tickets for the Festival can be purchased at the firehouse on August 20th (from 8am-12noon during the monthly Firehouse breakfast) or by calling 610-847-5642. Community Fire Co. No.1 is a 501 (c ) 3 corporation, all donations are tax deductible.

Thank-you in advance for your support of the volunteers that are on call seven days a week, 24 hours a day serving the communities of Riegelsville Borough, Durham Township and parts of Nockamixon Township.
