In a night where the keyboard meets the floorboard, four-time Grammy-winning pianist and NEA Jazz Master McCoy Tyner and his trio are joined by Tony Award-winning choreographer and tap master Savion Glover. The legendary Tyner's blues-based piano style, replete with sophisticated chords and an explosively percussive left hand has transcended conventional styles to become one of the most identifiable sounds in improvised music. From Glover's Broadway debut as the title character in 'The Tap Dance Kid' at the age of 12 to his Tony-winning choreography for 'Bring in !Da Noise, Bring in !Da Funk' and his turn as the animated penguin Mumble in 'Happy Feet,' he has remained the undisputed king of tap.
