BLU BEATZ

Not content with just occupying the later part of Sunday nights, WickedJazz sounds have extended their long jazzy arm to also fill early Sunday evenings. On Stage is a new weekly concept which includes live bands and artists. Funk, jazz and soul sounds mix together with hiphop, break beats and nu-jazz. Two young jazz musicians (Tony Roe & Bob Roos) bridge the gap between dance-music and contemporary jazz. They play without a DJ but retain the Phil Spectre wall-of-sound by using acoustic instruments in an electronic setup. This enables them to creatively recombine jazz, hip-hop, funk, Latin, house, drum&bass, dancehall and other styles into very danceable live music. You will be amazed about the scope and flexibility of the sounds produced by this duo of a drummer and a keyboard player/sound designer. But, that's not all. Blu Beatz can expand to form a whole band with the addition of talented soloists. Tonight they will be joined by Bernice on vocals.
