MURMUR BOX XMAS SPECIAL
The Murmur Box put on the very very best new psyche and folk and sometimes pop artists. They also make the best cakes, and do the best decor so the Xmas Party will be rather special.

HOUSE BAND
Rounding off the evening, The House Band is made up of members of Goldheart Assembly, Oldwick and other musicians and they play party-friendly rock'n'roll clasics.

BLIND ATLAS
Originally hailing from Denver (Colorado USA) and disparate points around the UK, Blind Atlas came together in the bohemian suburbs of south Manchester; united by a shared preoccupation with drinking, failed relationships and the Flying Burrito Brothers.
Led by singer/guitarist Ross Thompson, Blind Atlas concoct a boozy stew of American alternative country with a classic, Northern English edge; taking inspiration from Waits to Morrissey to map their trademark soulful melancholia and defining the territory where Americana meets Mancunia.
"... grizzled vocals and a heart-wrenching lyric sheet … think Ryan Adams fronting The Black Keys, or perhaps Fleet Foxes with a Led Zeppelin fixation; and clearly all designed to soundtrack long, whisky-addled nights of anguished soul-searching." - City Life.

PADRAIG WHELAN
Padraig, or Pat as he was known back then, landed on the scene in 2006 with a beautiful self-released EP which soon gathered support from the ezines, blogs and 6 Music. he went under the radar for a while but is back with his debut album that is sure to set folks talking again.
"As much as it pains to pigeon-hole, fans of The Clientele or Josh Rouse will revel in the smooth-hushed tones of Padraig’s voice." - The Line of Best Fit

HOLDEN
…are a must see live experience, as front man Jedd & brother Anthony Holden on guitar/ mandolin present their collection of classic songs packed full of raw emotive lyrics & electric shrills. While Dan Coffey, bass & Kris Lousley, drums provide the GARAGE FOLK musical glue taking the listener clear into the stratosphere, all meeting in London in early 2010! The warm classical Cello is to enhance their sound, which edges on the Everly bro’s coupled with the rock nous of the Oasis pair- perhaps with less attitude, but certainly more beard?!
The band of four feature songwriting brothers who, reared in Edinburgh’s suburban town Dalkieth, found early influence in the compelling nature of storytelling via their Celtic folk law roots. These “defenders of the underdog”, find unique inspiration found in songs such as pretty yet dark ditty ‘In The Yard’. As while gig’s are played by night, day-break sees unlikely jobs in the mental health & social care systems.
