An evening of punked out and newly waved sounds featuring France's electro/jazz/mutant-disco hero JOAKIM (Versatile, K7) along with a live show by one of the hottest avant-disco acts to emerge in recent memory Glass Candy. As one of France's foremost electronic musicians, Joakim runs the uber-cool Tigersushi label and is constantly busy with original production and countless remixes (recent ones include Klaxons, Simian Mobile Disco, New Young Pony Club, etc.) His sound exemplifies the current electro-disco craze, combining post-rock & disco with that sexy and very French synthesized touch. Glass Candy (aka Ida No and Johnny Jewel) have tapped into another dimension of completely original sounds and vibe. It's disco you can feel in your bones, dark disco and very hypnotizing with the low-pitched and slightly off key vocals by Ida over simple and italo mooged-tripped keys of Johnny. You don't want to miss their live show, it'll make you an instant fan if you are not already.
