At this point, most of you know how we approach NYE, right? We come at it like we do any other night, determined to bring you the hottest shit out there. No 'inclusive bar' gimmicks, no crusty ass 'reunion' shows, just the straight fire! After past year-enders where we've introduced folks to the likes of GIRL TALK and SPANK ROCK, we're pleased to announce the Chicago debut of THE BLACK KIDS. The Jacksonville-based five-piece are undoubtedly the most talked about group in independent music right now, and certainly one of the most sought after. Their debut EP, Wizard of Ahhhs, is pure heat and has been feverishly heralded by the likes of The Guardian, NME, Pitchfork, Vice and others. We've given you plenty of 'no way, you were there' moments before, folks, and this is one of them. Great experimental ensemble THESE ARE POWERS play second. The group have an EP and a seven inch to their credit, each featuring music they refer to as “ghost-punk”, a sound The Village Voice has characterized as “spooky.” And we’re pleased to have WALTER MEEGO on hand, the members of which will deejay throughout.
