Black History Month Workshop: African Mask-Making Workshop for Adults and Kids February 23, 2013

This multi-generational workshop with Christine Mitchell will give participants (ages 5 – adult) an opportunity to embellish creative, hand-made paper masks with their own designs that highlight African culture. Participants will develop skills in identifying where certain masks originate and their cultural functions. Parents/grandparents can work together with their children/grandchildren to make a mask or do one of their own for an additional fee. Children age 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Fee includes materials for 1 mask. Additional masks and materials are limited the day of the workshop so register early.
