B.J. NOVAK B.J. Novak, 26, has already established himself as one of comedy's most recognized and respected young voices. On NBC's critically-acclaimed comedy "The Office," B.J. Novak currently co-stars with Steve Carell as Ryan, the cool-headed temp. Novak's contribution to "The Office" extends to behind the camera as well: he is also a writer and co-producer, and scripted some of its most famous episodes, including "Diversity Day" and "Sexual Harrassment." B.J. Novak is also widely recognized, especially by younger audiences, from his recent work on the MTV hit "Punk'd," with Ashton Kutcher. On that show's highly-watched second season, B.J. starred in a number of the show's most memorable pranks. Among other highlights, B.J. played the driving instructor who nearly brought Hilary Duff to tears; the clothing store manager who tried to blackmail Usher; the fashion photographer who asked Bow Wow to pose with a live Bengal tiger; the federal agent who shut down Jaime Pressley's clothing factory; the obsessed fan of R&B star Mya; and many others. B.J. Novak's signature skill may be standup comedy, which allows him to combine his writing and acting talents into one focused performance. A standup comic for the past four years, B.J.'s intelligent, original material and calm, playful stage persona has already won him many fans and much acclaim. He was named one of Variety's "Ten Comics to Watch" in 2003, and is a favorite at the major venues Los Angeles, including the Hollywood Improv, and the Laugh Factory. On television, he has performed on Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" and on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
