The Frazier International History Museum’s BITE OF HISTORY lunchtime lecture series features a remarkable selection of historians and authors, with help from our own curatorial staff and historical interpreters, presenting a variety of engaging topics on a monthly basis.

Admission is FREE; bring your own lunch; beverages and light desserts are provided. All lectures take place on the third Thursday of the month at 12 noon. Admission to exhibit galleries is included.

On December 16, experience history in two, up-close-and-personal ways. See presentation pistols that once belonged to Abraham Lincoln’s Secretary of the Navy, Gideon Wells, as Frazier Museum Associate Curator Kelly Wilkerson tells their story. Then “meet” Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, commander of the Civil War’s 54th Massachusetts, the first African-American combat regime. His compelling story leads up to the attack on Ft. Wagner, South Carolina. Frazier Museum Interpreter Tony Dingman’s performance brings this important historical figure to life.
