Birds of the Delta February 6, 2010

Join us for a wonderful day exploring the rich habitat of the California Delta system in comfort aboard the 50 foot M/V Delphinus with it's high viewing platform. Our trip will begin in Antioch and continue on through the meandering channels of the Sacramento Delta. We'll search for the thousands of Tundra Swan, Snow Geese, White-fronted Geese, Canada Geese, and myriad ducks as well as the elegant Sandhill Cranes that spend the winter in the Sacramento Delta and surrounding area. We'll be on the lookout for over-wintering and resident raptors, including Great-horned owl. Shorebirds, gulls and passerines will add to the excitement of the day. Arrive at the Antioch Marina by 8:30 for a 9 am departure. We will return to the marina between 4:30 and 5 pm. Directions will be sent.
