Bimbo's & The Cafe du Nord welcome Dead Man's Bones October 27, 2009

When Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields met in Toronto in 2005, they realized their shared affinity for ghosts and the eerie. They decided to create music incorporating this with sounds reflecting the music they listened to--a little bit of doo-wop and artists like Shangri-Las, The Shags, The Cure, Sam Cooke, Joy Division and The Andrew Sisters. Zach and Ryan also incorporated into the project foley such as tin foil for rain, creaking doors, paper ripping for thunder, foot steps, screaming, crying, waves, werewolf howling, boat noises, crickets, etc. Dead Man’s Bones finished their self-titled debut record with the L.A.’s Silverlake Conservatory Childrens Choir on October 6 on Anti Records.
