ABOUT BILL CONDON:
Director of the highly anticipated December 2006 release DREAMGIRLS starring Beyoncé Knowles, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx, Bill Condon is an acclaimed director and screenwriter. Condon won the Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award® for his 1998 script of GODS AND MONSTERS, a poetic meditation on the final days of eccentric director James Whale, which he also directed. Condon was also nominated for an Academy Award® for his screenplay of the 2002 Best Picture Oscar® winner CHICAGO. More recently Condon wrote and directed the well-received biopic KINSEY, starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney.

Born in New York City, Bill Condon attended Columbia University, where he graduated with a degree in Philosophy. He currently serves on the board of Film Independent, as well as the recently formed Independent Writers Steering Committee of the WGA.

ABOUT THE FILM:
LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME is a gutsy movie musical loosely based on the life of singer Ruth Etting, played by Doris Day. The story follows Chicago gangster Marty Snyder (James Cagney) who falls for Ruth when she is working as a dance hall girl. Using strong-arm tactics, Snyder helps catapult Ruth to the top as a nightclub singer. When she falls in love with another man, however, the controlling and violent Snyder begins to self-destruct with explosive results.
