In conjunction with the CAP 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck, the Dane County Sheriff?s Office will
also be hosting a bike rodeo. The bike rodeo will take place in the west parking lot of the
Cambridge High School, off of Simonsen St, from 9:00-11:00am.

A bike rodeo is designed to be a fun, educational and hands-on way for children and parents to
learn about bike safety. A bike rodeo is a great way to introduce bike riders and their parents to
important skills necessary to ride safely. Skill stations will be set up to teach children and
parents bike safety. There will be a bike technician available to do a safety check on the bikes.
After all the bike riders have completed the course, the deputies will lead the riders in a
neighborhood ride to try out their new skills.

An adult must attend along with the bike riders. Parental involvement in this event is
important. The bike riders will have checklists with them and parents will go to each station with
their rider to check off the necessary skills as the deputy or volunteer explains them. Free bike
helmets and water bottles will be provided for the first 50 participants to arrive. Participants who
complete their checklist will be eligible for a prize drawing, including bicycles, helmets and gift
certificates. If you have any questions, please contact Deputy Gardner at (608) 423-8076,
M-F, 7:00AM ? 3:00PM.
