What do we mean when we talk about our heritage? To what extent is the past something fixed or open to endless interpretation? Is the “heritage industry” something that extends historical understanding or does it simply package up popular prejudices about a shared past?

Nathan Charlton, Big Ideas co-conspirator and sometime History graduate, leads our discussion with some background on historiography and some sharp insights into the uses and abuses on history and heritage.
