Big Freedia (pronounced "Free-da") is the stage name of Freddie Ross, the undisputed "Queen Diva" of Bounce Music in New Orleans. Bounce Music is an original urban music rising up from New Orleans housing projects, which dominates the city's street culture, and Freedia performs a derivative of Bounce. She appeared on HBO's 'Treme,' a drama which followed residents of New Orleans as they try to rebuild after Katrina.
