Big Band Benefit Concert in Memory of John Grone - $5 Donation

The Monday Night Big Band is an 18-piece traditional big band boasting outstanding musicians from the community and the University of Missouri. This concert is the first in a monthly series of Monday night benefit concerts.

This past summer, we lost one of the region’s outstanding musicians, John Grone. John was the trombone player with The Dynamics. Even while battling the late stages of Myastenia Gravis, a form of Muscular Dystrophy, he continued to play with Planet Jazz and was very involved with devotional music at Woodcrest. In addition to the big band, this concert will feature Planet Jazz and a reunion of The Dynamics, one of Columbia’s finest bands from the past decade. All members of the original group will participate as the band will perform great dance music and fan favorites from its CD Man Insane, released in 2000.
All door proceeds go to Muscular Dystrophy!
