Bharata Natyam Recital by Shweta Prachande. Shweta Prachande is a promising young Pune-based dancer who has trained under leading dance teachers. After graduating from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in Bharata Natyam, she had her arangetram at the Nehru Centre, Mumbai, in 2003. She has trained for five years at the Kalavardhini dance institution of senior dancer-scholar, Guru Dr. Sucheta Chapekar, and is presently a student of renowned Bharata Natyam exponent, Priyadarsini Govind, and K. N. Shajilal of Kalakshetra. The accolades that have come her way include the Maharashtra Sanman Award (2006), the Singar Mani title (2008) and the Nritya Bhushan Award (2006), among others. She has performed at several concert platforms and festivals, including the Ghungroo Festival (MP), the Spirit of Youth Festival at the Music Academy (Chennai), Padmavibhushan Kalanidhi Narayanan's Festival (Chennai), Sanskrit Gaurav Divas Samaroh of the Kalidas Academy, Ujjain (MP), the Pune Festival (1996, 1997, 1998 and 2001), to name a few. She has also received specialised training in Kalaripayattu, yoga, Carnatic music, nattuvangam and netrabhinaya.
