Theatre Puget Sound, the Northwest?s premiere theatre arts advocacy and service organization, and Northwest Playwrights Alliance have joined forces to cook up Beyond the Frame: an evening of small plays inspired by big art, a benefit event for Theatre Puget Sound. The recipe: gather some of the Northwest?s most talented playwrights and have them write short plays based on classic works of art. Throw in an array of this region?s gifted directors and performers to tackle the plays. Put both the art and the theatre artists in one room for three nights. And, voila, you?ve got a genuinely unique theatrical experience, one that breathes life into classic works of art, showcases the Northwest region?s wealth of talent and benefits the entire Puget Sound theatre community.
The show opens on September 15 at 7pm with a gala fundraising event that includes a wine reception as well as an auction featuring framed prints of the artwork. The show continues September 16 & 17 at 8pm. All performances are at Theatre 4, located on the 4th floor of the Seattle Center House, 305 Harrison Street.
Tickets for the September 15th opening performance and fundraising event are $25 and must be reserved by calling Theatre Puget Sound at 206.770.0370. Tickets for performances on September 16th & 17th are $10 and may be purchased at the door.
