On Saturday, March 7, at 6:30 pm, Tapestry (Irving Bible Church) will host a unique event that will focus on understanding how to effectively communicate with children about adoption and foster care and, more importantly, how to move beyond talking to empowering our children. Many adoptive and foster parents understand the importance of talking with their children about adoption and foster care. As children get older, however, it becomes increasingly important to understand how to empower them to handle situations on their own and equip them to speak for themselves. This interactive event is designed for anyone connected or interested in adoption or foster care, and will include role play scenarios to illustrate some effective empowering techniques.

Childcare is available for this event for ages 0-12 with registration at least 48 hours in advance. To make childcare reservations contact Kids Klub at Irving Bible Church at (972) 560-4639 or [email protected]. Be sure to indicate the name and date of the event you are registering for, the name and date of birth (month, date and year) for each child, any allergies or special instructions and your phone number (the last four digits of your phone number will be used at childcare check-in).

For questions or more information contact Amy Monroe at [email protected].
