Sponsored by The United Nations Foundations & The People Speak Program

Hosted by SustainUs DC Geocluster

Join us to learn about the United Nations actions in addressing climate change and discuss the role of United States youth in international and local actions on climate change. This is a part of The People Speak discussion series, an international event taking place in hundreds of communities, exploring America's role in the world.

Moderator:

Jin Lee, Research Associate, Center for Clean Air Policy

Speakers:

Kate Zyla, Research Fellow, the Pew Center on Global Climate Change
-- How are the United Nations and its member countries addressing the challenge of global climate change?

Michael Gale, member of SustainUs
-- "Agents of Change" Program of SustainUs: involvement of the US youth in the United Nations meetings on sustainable development

Following the speakers, we will have a town hall discussion on how youth in America can be more involved in actions on climate change and what the youth should hope to accomplish at home and abroad. Your thoughts and ideas will be especially appreciated by the members of SustainUs who will be attending the upcoming UN meeting on climate change in Montreal, Canada.

We hope to see you there!

Ruth, Kate, Michael and Jin
