What: Beyond JavaScript: Programming the web with Native Client

When: Wednesday - 27th October, 2010

Where:
TechHub London
Ground Floor
76-80 City Rd
London EC1Y 2BJ
UK Exit 5 from Old Street tube station.

Overview:

Javascript is the language of the web. But it's not always the right tool for the job. What if we could program the web safely and securely, in any language at all? Native Client makes that possible, by bringing together the safety of JavaScript with the flexibility of compiled code. As a bonus, there's usually a substantial performance improvement. This talk explains what Native Client is and how to use it to program web pages with C++.
Speaker(s):

Ian Ni-Lewis has spent the last year as an engineer on the Native Client team. Before that he spent sixteen years in the game industry, culminating in a stint at the Xbox Advanced Technology Group. He's now a Developer Advocate on Google's Game Developer Relations team.
