Beverley Armed Forces Day 14th June 2009
Beverley Town Council is proud to present Beverley Armed Forces Day.
A free entry family/community event celebrating our Armed Forces – past present and future.
The open air event will take place in Saturday Market Place in the beautiful historic market town of Beverley. Andy Comfort from BBC Radio Humberside will be opening the event with a live radio broadcast. There will be armed forces static and vehicle displays, climbing wall, paintball range, 150th (Yorkshire) Transport Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (Volunteers) Band, Driffield Silver Band, Beverley Pipe Band, East Yorkshire Cadet Band, Beverley Male Voice Choir, SSAFA Forces Help and Army Benevolent Fund ‘Big Curry’ and charity BBQ. Professor Fiddlesticks circus skills family entertainment, face painter and much more.
All events will take place in Saturday Market Place. Throughout the day there will be a large range of family-friendly displays and attractions.

10.30am Military Parade (starting in School Lane Car Park, marching along New Walkergate and Toll Gavel,and concluding in Saturday Market Place)
11.30am Salute and Traditional Drum Head Service
11.45am Veterans Badge Presentation

1.20pm Beverley Male Voice Choir
1.40pm Great War Live Interpreters followed by World War I Medley
2.10pm World War II Live Interpreters followed by World War II Medley/Reminiscences

3.10pm Remember Rationing! World War II Cookery Challenge with the Land Army Girls
3.50pm Conflict in South East Asia Introduction of Gurkhas followed by Traditional Dance Troupe

5.10pm Last Night at the Proms with the 150th (Yorkshire) Transport Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (Volunteers)
