Better Said Than Done: A Hot Night of Cool Stories July 30, 2011

Better Said Than Done is all about the story. Our monthly events feature a range of professional storytellers engaging audiences with funny, poignant, silly and unbelievably true stories on that month's theme.

Storytelling can be defined, simply, as the art of telling a story, but that is open to a lot of interpretation.

Better Said Than Done defines storytelling as the art of performing a true, personal story in front of a live audience. Our stories are personal. Each storyteller writes about his or her own experiences. They are true, though like every good story, they sometimes come with enhanced details. And they are a story, meaning they have a beginning, middle, and end. Most importantly, audiences are entertained because they are a performance.

Our performers have appeared at venues throughout the area, including Chief Ike's Mambo Room and Town Danceboutique, and have participated in the Capital Fringe Festival, DC SWAN Day, TEDx, Mortified, SpeakeasyDC, Story League, and Fan-Freaking-Tastic.
